This craving lesson of a lion head in deep relief is based on a design created by a brilliant artisan, my late father-in-law, David May. At 4 inches deep, there is so much room for adjustment as you go. This makes carving expressions extremely forgiving and gives you a chance to discover the shapes as you go to get a wonderfully detailed representation.
